Glamour City Pageantry System was founded in 2004 by Walter Patton with a vision to restore glamour, excellence, and elevated pageantry to the Nashville area. Determined to bring glamour back to the city, Patton partnered with rising star Sapphire Mylan, who served as the system’s first Emeritus. With the support of friends and family, Glamour City officially launched its legacy with the inaugural Miss Glamour City Newcomer pageant in the fall of 2005.
The early years of the Miss Glamour City Newcomer (GCN) division, though brief, left a lasting impression on the pageantry world. From 2005 through 2009, the division crowned Trinity Taylor (2005), Daphane Starr (2006), Raven Kelly (2007), Akasha O’Hara Lords (2008), and Ariana La’Moir (2009)—each of whom went on to become respected entertainers and titleholders across multiple systems. Following the 2009 season, Glamour City placed the Newcomer division on pause for three years to focus on expansion and development.
In 2011, Glamour City introduced a new chapter with the creation of Mr. Glamour City, crowning R’Mon Dupree Lord as the system’s first king. While this marked an important milestone, leadership soon decided to refocus efforts on the Miss Newcomer division, with plans to revisit the Mister division at a later date.
The return of Miss Glamour City Newcomer in 2013 brought renewed energy to the system with the crowning of Keyuna Campbell Mays. That same year marked a turning point for Glamour City, as the system transitioned into new ownership. 2014 became founder Walter Patton’s final year at the helm, during which he crowned his final queen before officially passing leadership of Glamour City to Akayla Andrews-Cartier. Under new ownership, the legacy continued with the crowning of Destiny DeVil, ushering in a period of reinvention.
With a renewed vision, Glamour City began the process of rebranding and setting its sights on national recognition. A defining moment in this evolution was the creation of the Miss Glamour City division, intended to represent the highest level of glamour and professionalism within the system. To support this direction, Paris joined as Director of Affairs, and Warren Collins became Stage Manager. Leadership sought a queen who embodied honesty, accountability, pride in the art form, strong stage presence, and over-the-top GLAMOUR—someone who would not only wear the crown but actively help build and promote the brand.
After extensive travel, meetings, and attendance at pageants across the country, Glamour City selected Nichelle Paris, “The Paris Experience,” to serve as Emeritus for the Miss Glamour City division. Her acceptance marked a significant milestone and helped position Glamour City beyond the local stage.
The system’s renewed vision came to life on March 29, 2015, when Miss Glamour City Newcomer andthe first Miss Glamour City were held at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. That year also saw the formation of the Glamour City Board—known as the City Council—and the creation of the production team called The Glamourzons, made up of dedicated members who ensured a polished and elevated pageant experience. The evening concluded with the crowning of Ny’Kema Chiles as Miss Glamour City Newcomer 2015, further expanding the GCN legacy.
On March 13, 2016, Glamour City continued its forward momentum by crowning Briana Monet as Miss Glamour City Newcomer and NeCe Sexton as Miss Glamour City. During this period, the system gained increased national exposure through appearances at major pageants and events. Strategic decisions were made to temporarily remove the Miss Glamour City division from competition in order to further refine and strengthen its foundation.
Believing that every queen deserves a king, Glamour City launched Mr. Glamour City Newcomer, with Briana Monet actively promoting the division nationwide. Her dedication resulted in a strong debut for the division, leading to the crowning of Aijiuan Dickerson as Mr. Glamour City Newcomer and Yasmine K Nicole as the 13th Miss Glamour City Newcomer.
This era concluded on March 11, 2018, at Play Dance Bar in Nashville, where Romallus Xzavior was crowned Mr. Glamour City Newcomer and Ceazia Giovanni Kreshé became the 14th Miss Glamour City Newcomer. They had the pleasure of reigning alongside two courts of Mr. and Miss Glamour City: Catrevion Iman Chancellor and Ny’Kema Chiles, with Ny’Kema making history as the first double-crowned queen in Glamour City, followed by Shonn Murro Dupree and Mya Campbell Cassadine. The pageant also marked Glamour City’s first use of digital score sheets, an experience that helped shape future judging practices. That evening, we crowned Francisco Rodriguez Esquire and Sheena Cassadine, now known as Majik Cassadine, as Mr. and Miss Glamour City Newcomer. Soon after, the global COVID-19 pandemic brought pageantry to a standstill worldwide.
In the post-pandemic era, Glamour City adapted by consolidating pageants into a single weekend format. Shonn Murro Dupree and Mya Campbell Cassadine reigned for two years, while Aijiuan Dickerson and Yasmine K Nicole returned to serve as Mr. and Miss Glamour City Newcomers 2.0. In 2021, the system expanded its Mr. and Miss divisions to be fully inclusive, crowning Tigga Sanchez as Mr. Glamour City and Lady Qtip D. Chanel as Miss Glamour City, the system’s first Femme Queen. That year also welcomed newcomers Nubian Sherrington-Black-Valentino and Ambrielle Phierce, who would later serve as a Principal Justice.
As Glamour City continued to grow, it introduced the Countess Division, its plus division, with NeCe Sexton returning to the system as Emeritus. While the organization faced challenges—including necessary dethronements due to failure to uphold Glamour City’s moral and organizational standards—these decisions reinforced the system’s commitment to integrity and accountability. For the 2022–2023, Glamour City crowned Neaundre Bonet and Dee Zastris, who were ultimately dethroned, as Mr. and Miss Glamour City, Ki’Ari KD Chiles and Jayda D. Van Michaels as the Newcomer keyholders. This was the first and last year the pageant was held at the Hilton, but we will keep that location in mind for future pageants. The following year, Kairo Obsidian and Nicolette Dickerson Davenport were crowned as the Newcomer Keyholders along with Zie’l Iman Dickerson and LaTracey Davenport Ross Obama, who was also dethroned, and were crowned Mr. and Miss Glamour City. Briana Monet rounded out the court, earning the Countess title and becoming the system’s second double-crowned queen.
The system expanded once more that year with the addition of Le Boy La Femme, Glamour City’s Closetball division, held every five years, with Marina Del’Ray Sexton serving as Emeritus. Glamour City found stability at the Best Western Grand Ballroom, where at that location, we crowned Gemini D. Starr Walker and Passion Principle as Mr. and Miss Glamour City, Dior ZyYere and Nicolette Dickerson Davenport as Newcomers—making ZyYere the third double-crowned titleholder--Tatiana Luv St. James as Countess, and ChaNel Eclipse as the reigning Le Boy La Femme titleholder, holding her title until 2030.
After navigating leadership changes and organizational restructuring, Glamour City implemented mandatory pre-registration to strengthen preparedness and professionalism within the system. In 2025, the keys of Glamour City were proudly passed to Devon Iman Dickerson Diamond, Mr. Glamour City, and Malaysia Kenyatta Black, Miss Glamour City, who represent the system with pride and purpose.
As Glamour City looks ahead, the Newcomer and Countess divisions are undergoing rebranding, while Le Boy La Femme will return in 2030. Through decades of evolution, resilience, and reinvention, the Glamour City Pageantry System remains committed to honoring the art of pageantry, cultivating excellence, and celebrating glamour in all its forms. The City continues to move forward—and the legacy lives on.
